Ali Baba is a family run restaurant which has been specialising in Lebanese cuisine for more than 25 years. In this custom designed logotype I tried to capture Lebanon’s culture and Arabic influences as well as the restaurant’s authenticity and heritage.

Designing the Logotype
Looking at Arabic letterforms and calligraphy, I got a feel of what the logotype should look like. I designed a few variations and felt that the first sketches were too rigid and lacked the fluidity that is very prominent in calligraphy. The design needed to look authentic, organic and human.
